Spike's & Jamie's 911 Memorial Page |
We are dedicating this page to the friends and families of those killed or injured during the cowardly attack on an innocent American civilian population on 9/11/01; also to the rescue workers and volunteers who have given so much of themselves to help during this tragedy - some have given all.

An Open Letter to Terrorists
I don't know your name, or names. We may never know who you are – so I can't address you personally.
Today, you killed several thousands of our friends... Perhaps not people whom we knew personally,
But people like us. People who worked hard to make a living, Who loved someone, who were loved by someone,
Who worried about making a better life for their children, grandchildren, and loved ones.
Who believed in God and the American Dream. Who criticized this country for its insufficiencies,
and cared enough to try and change things to ensure a better future. Not just for us, but for the world.
People who leave behind scores of loved ones, friends, pets, neighbors, coworkers, and members of their faiths.
Perhaps even people who derived from your own country who sought refuge here.
Your act was a slaughter of the innocents. You are like an insidious cancer that strikes without warning, ravaging
bodies, and tearing families apart. But, in the end can never destroy the soul.
You are the ultimate coward.
You may topple our buildings, collapse our communication systems, disrupt our government, crash our markets,
and leave behind the carnage of bodies,
But you will never destroy the soul of America.
We made this country from the bits and pieces of the rest of the world; we took the best, the worst of every culture and nationality, race and creed,
and made an alloy that may be dented, but not even a trial by fire can melt.
I don't know what god you believe in, or what hateful rhetoric you espouse, or what your misguided political beliefs might be that allows you to do what
you did without a fear of eternal damnation.
I only know that you may win a battle or two, but you will never win this war.
We have the entire history of the world on our side, and no dictator, despot, or madman has survived as long as America has thrived and prospered.
If you accomplished anything at all today, it was to give America a wake-up call,
and we will now rise up stronger than before.
You are defeated before you've even begun. There in your private hell and later in your eternal one.
Someday your people may even need our help, and because we are America, we would respond.
May God bless the friends we lost, their families, friends, neighbors, co-workers and loved ones.
We will help them rebuild from the ashes.
May God continue to bless America. Help her to protect us all, and may she continue to shine
as a beacon of democracy and hope to the rest of the world.

MY GRANDAUGHTER'S MESSAGE
As I see the photos of Tuesday's attack unfold I am both saddened and
blessed. Saddened for the loss of all those people which were of ALL walks
of life and races. They are only a memory now leaving behind friends,
family, co-workers and the nation to mourn.
The nation feels a deep sorrow for the lost; many still filled with anger, rage & disbelief at what has
happened. There are those (so-called) Americans who want to seek revenge on people because of their heritage. This nation's government has vowed that
they would take care of the situation. Trust in them that will do so.
This wonderful yet often misguided government has kept this country going
for 225 years and when the promises are made (generally) they stick to it.
We as American Citizens are not perfect either. We all have made ALOT of
mistakes through out our 225 year history...Boston Tea Party, the Civil War,
the Vietnam war, etc.
But through all of our mistakes (in gov't and people) we are still standing bonding together once more in tragedy.
Yet, amidst this tragedy I am also blessed. Blessed to see that Americans
are pulling together to help out a state and it's people a majority of those
that they probably never met. It blesses me even more to see other people of other nations coming together to rally support for a terrorist torn Nation.
To see Tibetan nuns praying for us, a special changing of the guard in
Britain and a police officer proudly unfolding the American flag in Britain.
It blesses me to see how many people have risked their lives to save others.
I think about the men on flight 93 (the one that crashed in PA) willing to
risk their lives so that others could live...they are heroes.
The men and
women involved in the rescue efforts...heroes. The people lined up to donate
blood...heroes. The citizen's of New York who get up and start each day
knowing what happened two days before are heroes.
We the American people who have defended other nations, won two major world wars and continue to strive
during adversity We are heroes every day because we continue to keep our ideals of freedom close to our sides, even during the most painful
tragedies.
May you see the light at the end of the tunnel and the blessing that are
coming out of this dark time. Be filled with hope and peace knowing that we
have and will continue to prevail as a nation, as a people all with one
goal...FREEDOM.

THE DAY AMERICA CRIED
It was like any other morning
people hustling around
never knew what was to happen
never heard a sound
It all ocurred so suddenly
happened too damn fast
*whoosh* and it was over
with a loud and deafening blast
They thought that they had beaten us
it was over and the won
what they didn't know
was we united everyone
So sadness loomed above us
so many innocents have died
they think they have won this
the day America cried
But it's not over yet
and peace shall rule once more
there's never a good answer to
what is this war for ?
So pray for peace my friends
and may closure soon you own
from all of this , I have to say
a love so pure has grown
No more rage and anger
with blessings from above
now look to your fellow man
and do it now , with love
