Spike's & Jamie's 911 Memorial Page
|
We are dedicating this
page to the friends and families of those killed or injured during the cowardly
attack on an innocent American civilian population on 9/11/01; also to the
rescue workers and volunteers who have given so much of themselves to help
during this tragedy - some have given all.

Joy from Heart of Gold forwarded this to me.

The Gift Of Love Through Life
As I sit
watching the tubes,
monitoring the drip,
I think of all
who gave
Each imagined you,
I am sure
hoping
to save a life,
yours, mine maybe
No matter
whose life
was saved,
it's American
free and brave
Now your color,
again full-blooded,
no longer empty,
your smile forever
rich, lush
Evermore,
when I kiss you,
in some way I'll know
I'm kissing
all who gave.
[Deep thanks to all who donated blood, our eternal love and
gratefulness goes out to you!]

The gentleman who wrote this, Rob Suggs, is a children's author and
illustrator. He works a lot with the children at Children's Healthcare of
Atlanta. He is able to "lighten their load" through his art and story
telling therapy. The children obviously are asking questions about the
dire circumstances we are in, as well as the adults. This is what he has
written to further explain the situation to the children he is working
with in the hospitals...adapted from a classic story "How the Grinch Stole
Christmas".
The Binch
By: Rob Suggs
Date: September 13, 2001
Every U down in Uville liked U.S. a lot,
But the Binch, who lived Far East of Uville, did not.
The Binch hated U.S! the whole U.S.way!
Now don't ask me why, for nobody can say,
It could be his turban was screwed on too tight.
Or the sun from the desert had beaten too bright
But I think that the most likely reason of all
May have been that his heart was two sizes too small.
But, Whatever the reason, his heart or his turban,
He stood facing Uville, the part that was urban.
"They're doing their business", he snarled from his perch.
"They're raising their families! They're going to church!
They're leading the world, and their empire is thriving,
I MUST keep the S's and U's fromsurviving!"
Tomorrow, he knew, all the U's and the S's,
Would put on their pants and their shirts and their dresses,
They'd go to their offices, playgrounds and schools,
And abide by their U and S values and rules,
And then they'd do something he liked least of all,
Every U down in U-ville, the tall and the small,
Would stand all united, each U and each S,
And they'd sing Uville's anthem, God bless us! God bless!"
All around their Twin Towers of Uville, they'd stand,
and their voices would drown every sound in the land.
"I must stop that singing," Binch said with a smirk,
And he had an idea--an idea that might work!
The Binch stole some U airplanes in U morning hours,
And crashed them right into the Uville Twin Towers.
"They'll wake to disaster!" he snickered, so sour,
"And how can they sing when they can't find a tower?"
The Binch cocked his ear as they woke from their sleeping,
All set to enjoy their U-wailing and weeping,
Instead he heard something that started quite low,
And it built up quite slow, but it started to grow--
And the Binch heard the most unpredictable thing...
And he couldn't believe it--they started to sing!
He stared down at U-ville, not trusting his eyes,
What he saw was a shocking, disgusting surprise!
Every U down in U-ville, the tall and the small,
Was singing! Without any towers at all!
He HADN'T stopped U-Ville from singing! It sung!
For down deep in the hearts of the old and the young,
Those Twin Towers were standing, called Hope and called Pride,
And you can't smash the towers we hold deep inside.
So we circle the sites where our heroes did fall,
With a hand in each hand of the tall and the small,
And we mourn for our losses while knowing we'll cope,
For we still have inside that U-Pride and U-Hope.
For America means a bit more than tall towers,
It means more than wealth or political powers,
It's more than our enemies ever could guess,
So may God bless America! Bless us! God bless!

The Sleeping Dragon Awakens
Author: Richard Lowe, Jr.

On December 7, 1941, a different time and a different world in many
ways, one country thought it could take a punch at a sleeping dragon.
That country learned after five long years of the bloodiest war yet
known to humanity that it is wise to let sleeping dragons snore.
During that war, several counties learned the unmatched power of the
United States is a terrible thing to behold when it is fully awake,
conscious and it's snout pointed directly at you.
After the war the dragon went back to it's normal peaceful, sleepy
self. Even the heights of the cold war, the Korean war and the
Vietnam wars, terrible as they were, could not awaken the fierce
beast. Much of the world has discovered, much to their surprise and
delight, how happy and friendly this dragon really is when it is
simply left alone. The dragon quickly rebuilt it's worst enemies
after World War II, leaving them strong and safe and completely
transformed. Don't get me wrong, the dragon is by no means a saint,
but it basically has a good heart and a kind soul.
On September 11, 2001 someone, as yet unidentified, did the
unthinkable. He (or she) woke up the dragon.
This message is for the group of scum who planned and performed this
act. It is not aimed at anyone else.
You had better pray to whatever gods you believe in now, because your
god, whatever his or her name, will not protect you from the wrath of
the dragon.
You thought you were smart - you are stupider than the dirt under our
feet.
You think you are tough, whacking the dragon across the nose. You
will soon learn what tough really means.
You wanted to show us how much you hate us - the world will soon
learn how the dragon deals with creatures such as you.
You wanted to terrify us? You have only succeeded in enraging us.
You wanted to tear us apart? You have only succeeded in uniting us.
You wanted to show the world how weak we are? You will only succeed
in demonstrating how the dragon tears your bones from your limbs.
And now this message goes out to the rest of the planet. This is for
all countries everywhere.
The United States is at war. Countries of the world, it is time to
stand up and be counted. Do you agree with evil, senseless slaughter
of innocent civilians? Is your country evil? Or do you want the world
to be a sane and good place for all peoples to live?
Those countries who stand with the United States against evil will
survive. Make absolutely no mistake about it - those countries who do
not stand with us, who do not help us find and utterly destroy these
enemies, are themselves our enemies. And the dragon shows no mercy
towards it's enemies.
And now a final message for the group who did this terrible deed.
The dragon is licking it's wound now, but do not doubt that it's
attention will turn towards finding and destroying you soon. We will
hunt you from the sky, from the oceans, from the land, and from the
very air itself.
So pray now. You are as good as dead.
