Spike's & Jamie's 911 Memorial Page

We are dedicating this page to the friends and families of those killed or injured during the cowardly attack on an innocent American civilian population on 9/11/01; also to the rescue workers and volunteers who have given so much of themselves to help during this tragedy - some have given all.

"Do we really want more lives lost"? Good point!! Had a war against the terrorists happened much sooner there may be 5,000 people still alive today that aren't. Not to mention all the children who are now orphans.

When we go to war certainly innocent lives will be lost. If a ruler of a country doesn't want that in his country he should know better than to sanction gutless terrorism or harbor the terrorists. If the leaders do this they put their people in jeopardy and ultimately will be held responsible. An act of war to keep from losing more of our innocent lives is quite Biblical.

Matthew 5:38-48 and Romans 12:17-21, Jesus and Paul were addressing personal responses. They were not addressing a government's response to evil or its enemies.

Exodus 21:23,24; Leviticus 24:20 and Deuteronomy 19:11-21. The Old Testament law, "an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth," was never intended to be applied by individuals in the Old Testament period or in the New Testament period. Instead, it was a standard for the collective society to use to enforce good conduct among people.

Deuteronomy 19:1-23:14 deals with the statutes for social and community order. Remember that Moses was leading a theocracy, which is a form of government in which the Lord God, Yahweh, was recognized as the supreme ruler.

Genesis 9:5,6. The principle of capital punishment was invoked upon every animal or man who took human life unlawfully. (Exodus 21:28)

What is Paul's position about capital punishment in Acts 25:11?

Romans 13:4 -- role of government in carrying out justice?

Ecclesiastes 8:11 and Isaiah 26:10 -- Notice common principles and how do they apply to our national crisis?

Do we wage war on our private citizens? Oh, yes we do. This last winter there were some threats of riots in our area. While sitting stuck in traffic our bus sat next to 3 busses packed with police officers dressed in full riot gear. YES!!! When a citizen/citizens are committing heinous crimes we do have acts of war against them to make it stop!!

Don't Hold Back

Listen up. This is very important.

On September 11th, 2001 an as yet unknown group murdered over 5,000 citizens of the world. It is vital to understand that the main attack  was against the World Trade Center. This is an attack on the civilized world.

Let me repeat this fact. Over 5,000 innocent humans beings were consciously, ruthlessly and maliciously murdered. These were women, men, and children of all nationalities, religions, colors, creeds, sexes and sexual orientations.

This is not an act of war against the United States. This is an act of war against the civilized world. It must be treated as such.

The world must now understand as it has never understood before that it has an enemy. An honest to god, covert, hostile, at it's throat, enemy. An enemy who is more cowardly than any enemy that it has ever had before. Understand this clearly and completely - these terrorists are cowards. Honorable men who have differences do not attack and murder thousands of innocent civilians.

There is no need to wait. We already know who our enemies are.

Any country which supports and harbors terrorists is our enemy. The terrorists themselves are our enemy. And believe me, our enemies have proven what they are - cowards and viscous subhumans.

The country of Iraq is our enemy. The country of Afghanistan is our enemy. There are a number of other countries all over the planet that are also our avowed enemies.

What do we need to do?

We need to attack. Now. Without further delay.

The United States spends hundreds of billions of dollars every year on it's military. The rest of the world spends at least an equal amount. It is time to make those vast sums pay off.

It is time, first, to ask each and every country in the world which side it supports. Afghanistan and Iraq have already answered - they support murderers of innocent children, husbands and wives. Other countries are answering as well - they support civilization. Pakistan is taking a very brave stance considering their heritage and their location - they are siding with civilization. My hats are off to these brave humans - I fear they will be hurt for their honor and bravery.

So what do we do next? I would form teams of special forces units from all civilized countries and send them to hunt down and capture or destroy all known terrorists, wherever they may reside. We can no longer afford the luxury of allowing sworn enemies, murderers, to live within our midst.

It must be recognized that these vermin (and I apologize to our friends the rodents and cockroaches of the world for degrading them so but there are no words in the English language to describe how pitiful these terrorists are) exist because we allow them to exist. And it is time to put an end to this.

Yes, the vermin will fight back, just as insects and rats will fight back and flee when your fumigate a building. Sometimes you just have to hold your nose, put on your gloves and clean out the garage.

At the same time, those countries that support murder, destruction and chaos must be dealt with.

We have the power. I speak here of all of the civilized countries of the world. We have great armies and now we have a great cause. We must hold hands and do it together. Christians, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists and people of every religion are threatened by these vermin. Arabs, Israelis, Americans, Russians, Chinese and all other civilized people's must join hands and do what is necessary. Red, black, white, yellow - humans of all colors and races need to put down their differences and solve this now.

We must pull out all of the stops. We must do whatever we need to do.

If the terrorist states will not renounce their ways and join with civilization, then they must be dealt with, forcefully and without restraint. Armies must be sent in to do what needs to be done. Air strikes must be made, as often and powerful as necessary. And do not forget, we have the option of more powerful, forceful weapons as well.

But what of the peoples of these terrorist states? Surely they should not be harmed in this war?

Governments do not survive without the support of their people. If the people of these vermin states do not support terrorism and do not wish this kind of behavior, then they can change it. Governments are always made by people.

Look at the people of Yugoslavia, who finally decided enough is
enough. They made the decision to change their government, and even had the courage and strength to give up their murderous, evil leader to be tried for his crimes. This took great strength of will, and they are to be congratulated for finally doing what needed to be done.

So again, all people's of the world. Make your choice, now. Are you civilized or are you vermin?

Think carefully before you answer. We, the civilized people of the world, are coming. We are judging, and we will deal with you. Now.

I heard a story......
A mother took her 4 year old twins outside the day after the horrific events. It began to rain...the mother said " Oh its raining" and one of her twins said " No Mama ..the Angels are crying"

Another day has almost come and gone
Can't imagine what else could wrong
Sometimes I'd like to hide away somewhere and lock the door
A single battle lost but not the war

Tomorrow's another day
And I'm thirsty anyway
So bring on the rain

It's almost like the hard times circle 'round
A couple drops and they all start coming down
Yeah, I might feel defeated,
I might hang my head
I might be barely breathing - but I'm not dead

Tomorrow's another day
And I'm thirsty anyway
So bring on the rain

I'm not gonna let it get me down
I'm not gonna cry
And I'm not gonna lose any sleep tonight

Americans All
"I fear we have awakened a sleeping giant and have instilled in him a terrible resolve". -- Imperial Admiral Yamamoto December 1941 following the attack on Pearl Harbor.

This week it seems that much of the world has spent a great deal of time in front of their television sets watching the horrific aftermath of the terrorist attack that was designed to demoralize and frighten the American people. It is obvious that the madmen who perpetrated these acts have spent a great deal of time in planning and training for their act of cowardice. It is equally obvious that they spent little time in the study of the history of the United States of America. If they had, they would have known that their act would have quite the opposite effect from from what they intended.

In fact, you might say that we owe the madmen of the world, such as Osama bin Laden, a measure of thanks. Prior to these intolerable acts, America was indeed "The Great Melting Pot". We were a country comprised of Blacks, Whites, Asians, Hispanics and my own people, the American Indian. America was peopled with Catholics, Protestants, Mormon, Jews, Moslems, Buddhists and any other religious designation you can bring to mind. We were a potpourri of nationalities, cultures and customs. Most of us, after all, came from someplace else originally, and some of us still bear the stamp of our origin in our speech or our mode of dress. In any major city you are likely to find many of us banded together in our own little communities where we can be with others who share our values, customs and viewpoint on life. That all changed this week.

Today, the United States is comprised of Americans. And each of those Americans is a warrior with a terrible determination too bring to justice those who will not or cannot learn to live in a civilized society. To do that we may have to walk a path we prayed never to walk again, the path to war. We hope our journey along this path is a short one. We hope the extermination of these vermin infesting our global community is swift and decisive. We long for the day when we can put down our war lance and return to our peaceful lives in beauty and harmony. It is so.

Osama Bin Laden Outranks Britney Spears!
by Mike Banks Valentine

First, I'll state emphatically, I join those mourning lost loved ones in the terrorist attack on the US last Tuesday. Nothing could have been more shocking than seeing the news footage we've all endured this week and I'm still struggling to make sense of it all. In taking the oft repeated advice that we seek a return to business as usual I've found no escape from terrorism in returning to my work. I do Search Engine Optimization for small business web sites. Terrorism ranks at position #48 on the most frequently searched list.

As a search engine optimization and marketing specialist, I monitor and measure the most frequently searched terms at all the top search engines across the web. It is clear, to those of us who make a living tweaking and maximizing search terms on our clients' web sites, which interests on the web dominate based on what people are searching for. We attempt to find terms relevant to our clients to maximize their web traffic.

Osama Bin Laden now ranks as the most searched term on the search engines and displaces Britney Spears and Pamela Anderson as the most sought after name on the web. Nostradamus is running a close second after rumors circulated that he predicted the attack on America as the beginning of the end of the world.

I couldn't resist visiting the number one search result at Google for Osama Bin Laden from results returned by Google for a category at the Open Directory Project where Bin Laden has his own section labled: (Visit < http://dmoz.org > for the ODP site)

Society > Issues > Terrorism > International Terrorists > USA Designees > Al-Qaida > Usama Bin-Laden

The top link in that category leads to the following page:

http://menic.utexas.edu/menic/utaustin/course/oilcourse/mail/saudi/0007.html

This link is a "University of Texas Middle East Information Center" page from the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Texas in Austin. It provides a 1993 interview with Bin Laden by Robert Fisk of the "Independent". With Bin Laden being the most searched person on and off the web, this page must be experiencing heavy traffic as the number one search result this week. I'll wager that list of links grows larger.

It is not always so obvious why top terms are being searched as it is this week. This demonstrates strongly that the web is a valuable tool for research and reference when important and dramatic issues arise in our society.

Next come searches for "American flag" and the words, "World Trade Center", displacing "jokes" and "MP3" from their usual high ranking in number of searches. Jokes only dropped from a steady place in top 10 searches to position 41 on the list. People clearly still need something to smile about.

New York City and Afghanistan now rank as the top searched locations pushing "Toronto" and "Canada" off the list of the top 500 search terms. Folks are still interested in "Maps" but now it is "World Map" and "Afghanistan Map" that have replaced "Weather" and "Driving Directions" as top 50 search terms.

"American Red Cross" has displaced "dictionary" as a top 20 search term and dictionary has dropped to 40th position. I'm sure lots of folks are looking up "Afghansitan" and of course "Nostradamus" so "dictionary" still ranks as a top search term. Misspellings of words are very often found highly ranked in the most frequently searched terms and this week that is still apparent as the list contains 18 spelling variations on the name of Nostradamus.

News sites are very frequently sought by searchers but are usually found near the bottom of the 500 most frequently searched terms. This week all major US television networks jumped into the top 250 where only CNN manages to be found routinely that high on the list. This week CNN jumped to the top 10 with three positions. Position number 7 with "CNN news", position 8 with "CNN" and position 10 with "CNN.com".

The BBC made it to the top 500 the first time this week. Maybe we need to hear what Britain thinks after a steady diet of US Networks? I must admit that I spent more of my time in front of television than I did in front of my computer this week and tuned in to PBS to see a BBC report myself after two days of non-stop commercial network news.

Speaking of commercial, did you notice there weren't any?

While the commercial phrase "airline tickets" maintains a position around the 50th most frequently searched terms in a normal week, it is nowhere to be found on the list this week above position 500. Neither are there many searches for products as there have been in recent weeks.

We often seek comfort and enjoyment from animals and the terms "dogs", "cats" and "horses" usually find their way onto the most frequently searched terms list. Only "dogs" remain this week. Does that suggest they remain our best friend in difficult times too?

Our society can be viewed through this odd lens on a regular basis every week and you can see a side-by-side list of the top 300 search terms for the week of 9/15/01 and 9/8/01 here:

http://website101.com/Search_Engine_Positioning/top300terms.html

I hope to see the term "World Peace" in that most frequently searched phrases, if not some day soon, at least some day.

Pride and shame in my fellow man
The emotions have only slightly calmed in the last 36 hours, but the resolve of Americans and free people everywhere has not dimmed. The horrible acts of terrorism yesterday have to have been the most massive and staggering act of terrorism in all of written history. I can think of no act myself.

I am today very pleased with our nation, our fellow citizens, our friends, neighbors, etc. There has been shinning in our hearts a resolve to help, in what ever way we can. Lines are 50 foot long outside the Red Cross office to give blood and they have appointments booked solid for almost two weeks locally. All manner of donations are filling the salvation army and good will, as well as many funds set up to help.

The people responsible meant to cause pain, suffering, and mainly terror and fear in our hearts. They want to destroy us, but although they have produced great worry for friends and loved ones near the attacks, they have NOT broken us! They have done just the OPPOSITE. They have inadvertently relighted the roaring flame of patriotism and kindness in the hearts of MILLIONS that had forgotten. We have joined together to help each other and demand that the responsible PAY for what has happened! I am proud of America today!

There are however individuals I am not proud of, and to live in the same community as them shames me. Last night in our small town, a kind and loving Arab man just paying for his gas at a local gas station was shoved around and tormented my local teens. This behavior also infuriates me. I understand we want to make someone pay, I feel it too. But the innocent American citizens must not suffer for their linage. We must guard ourselves and protect the innocent.

Muslims that truly follow the Koran know that it teaches love and kindness, not hate. Unfortunately several militant leaders have twisted the true teachings and have inspired hate. Those of any religion need to learn for themselves what is true and not take fully for granted that what their leaders state is truth. Every responsible religious leader will tell his followers to check it out for themselves.

Not all Muslims or Arabs are to blame and we cannot harm the innocent. Have the terrorists done enough of that? Why would you destroy all we try to rebuild by doing what they have done? YES, those responsible must pay, but the innocent must be protected. Anger is nothing but misdirected fear. I say to those teens, you are no better than the terrorists that have put fear in your heart, killed thousands, and hated us with all their hearts. I hope you will turn around and be sorry... SAY you are sorry, and ask for forgiveness.
